I went to this farmer's market one time when I was in Halifax and it's FABULOUS! The beauty of the old Alexander Keith Brewery building where it's located didn't really come across in the video. It was wall-to-wall vendors and wall-to-wall people. So much fun! Thanks for posting this video -- it gave me a wonderful trip down memory lane!
Great Farmer's Market. Sadly, they just closed our for good after it being here for over 50 years. :(
Oh my! I would LOVE to have a farmer's market like that here. What a marvelous place! )O(boo
Wow...that's great. I wish we had more of these around...how fabulous! I can't believe they have THAT MANY people go through there. That's some Farmer's Market! Thanks for sharing! :o)
i love the farmer's market in halifax. i think canadian farmer's markets are much better than the ones we have in the states. no matter where i travel in canada i always head straight to the nearest farmer's market. here is the chex mix recipe, i make a lot so i will give you average portions. this is NOT low fat!for the dry ingredients:1 box wheat chex1 box rice chex1 pound cashews1 large bag pretzel sticks1 large bag potato sticks1 bag fritos1 bag bugles1 bag bagle chipsfor the coating:1 pound butter melted6 tablespoons bacon grease ( i know, i know )2 tablespoons worchestershire sauce3 tablespoons garlic powder2 tablespoons onion powder3 tablespoons celery salt4 tablespoons dried parsleyhot sauce ( brand and amount to taste )mix all of this together with the melted butter and bacon grease.you can add any other seasonings which you like. i put all the dry ingredients in a large bag and then pour the seasoning mix over it and roll the bag from side to side until everything is coated. you have to be gentle so you don't end up with crumbs. then i spread it all out on cookie sheets and bake it at 250 degrees until golden and crisp. you can gently fold it over during cooking for even browning.store in zip lock bags!enjoy!!!!
