In A One Horse Open Sleigh

I have been on many hay rides. Carts piled with hay, pulled by tractors or trucks or horses. But never a sleigh ride. I've never known what it was like to actually glide over the snow, with the jingle of harness bells floating on the frosty air.

I used to think this was just a dream. Imagine my surprise to come across this site, which lists places to get a Christmas/Yule tree and enjoy sleigh rides anywhere in the USA or Canada! And, there are a few places in the Valley here that offer rides!

Check out the link and see if your State/Province is on the list and there is a place near you for some Winter fun!

My Pa attaches sleigh runners onto his wagon in the winter and offers rides at local events in the small town where they live.

We've gone on sleigh rides pulled by my Mom's babies (8 ft tall draught horses that follow my 5ft tall Mom around like puppies)at Christmas time and there is nothing quite like it, it really is one of the high lights of the celebrations.

I hope you enjoy your ride, make sure you bundle up and bring a thermos of hot chocolate to help keep warm.

You are going to love it. I haven't glided over the snow in almost 50 years, but the joy will always be with me.

Okay I'm really shocked there isn't one in Oregon. ;) I LOVE sleigh rides....well wait, I've never been on one but I know I would love it! One day! So you already moved into your new place? You and I are alike...late bloomers...moving during the holidays. Well we're two peas in a pod. Lol! Oh yea, cats! :)

Good luck with your move too!!

Hey Keith - thanks for popping in!

TMC - how lucky that you get rides at home at Christmas!

Michelle - heading over to the new place to paint, which will take me a few days. Then slowly dragging my things over. I don't have to be out of here until month end - but I want to be mostly in the new place by Christmas, if possible!
