Nature Rocks!

I am a rock-hound. I can't help it. I think it goes hand-in-hand with being an avid gardener. I am forever picking up rocks off the ground, and have them all over the house and yard. I also have a crystal collection that keeps growing.

The above pic is a weathered-board tray that I keep most of my smaller crystals on, along with some assorted tools I use for workings. I always have multi coloured mini-tapers on hand, and the grey and white banded object behind them is my wild turkey feather for smudging.

In the blue and green pouch at the lower part of the picture, is one of my pendulums. In the center, there is also a little Mayan temple I brought back from Mexico, and a Egyptian glass bottle that I now have some protection oil in.

I have my other supplies spread around my little suite, but this tray gets much use, and I'm forever picking out a crystal or two to carry with me throughout the day depending on what energy I am needing, or how I'm feeling.

With my energy being 'funny' this last month or so, I've definitely gravitated toward the more protective and grounding stones. Some of these include:

Hematite
Jet
Red Jasper
Smoky Quartz
Turquoise

Not everyone is a rock person. My one neice picks up every rock she sees. The other one is a tree-hugger (literally,) and picks up flowers that have dropped from their stems, or dandelions and puts them in her hair.

Is there something out there on the earth that you pick up and hold on to? Do you gather items from your yard, walks and trips and bring them into your home? I find it fascinating how we build homes to protect ourselves and then spend our time bringing Nature in!

Oh I am definitely a rock and sea shell girl. I bring them home all the time, at least one per outing. We have talked about getting a tumbler for the stones but I rather like their natural look.

Yep, I tend to pick up the pretty or unusual rock. I have some sweet crystals, but I am resisting buying any more...stay away, Hibiscus Moon, don't open that etsy shop again!

I like to pick up acorns, too, and keep them in glass bowls. The kitty-cats think this is for their benefit, too. Natural toys.

Oh your my kind of girl and everyone here(-:. I'm a rock lass, I pick up all sorts of lovely stones and collect crystals. I also collect seashells, and love to pick up feathers I come across. And like faerwillow said, a multitude of other natural things such as feathers, fir cones, leaves, twigs and others, especially in the Autumn which is my favourite time of year, probably for this very reason he heeee

We love rocks too:) My son Noah collects sticks. We have about a dozen in the house at any given time.
We gather feathers, pine cones, fallen bird's nest. It really makes us feel connected to the earth to keep these things in our home.
Your collection is lovely!

I am more of a book collector. I have thousands of children's books and have sold most of my adult books.

Now, my boys collect rocks and twigs. I need to come up with something to do with the twigs. I eventually put them in the yard because of the mess.

We live by the ocean, and i love taking daily walks along the beach - I seem to have a weakness for driftwood as well as sea glass.
My youngest collects rocks, when we are out i'll see him poping them into his pocket, collecting them from parks, the beach, even peoples gardens.

I am definitely a rock person.. A short (3hr) drive from where I am living in NC are several Hiddenite Mines.. Where you can keep what you find.. I have a medium sized container from my last trip of Star Sapphires,Rubies and other assorted crystals stones and gems I have yet to polish.. Thank you for this post now I have remembered just how much more work is ahead of me LOL..

I collect rocks as well and coincidently, like Faerwillow, heart shaped ones.

Not all rocks will "speak to me". Yet, there are some who's energy is so strong and lovely, it would be impossible not to collect them!

I never thought of rocks as spiritual assistants... but I am rather fond of all the fossil rocks I've gathered over time... must look into this.. thanks for the tip!

What a lovely collection. I appreciate but don't collect rocks unless they have a naturally sculpted shape. Storage space is a problem. I hope you are having a wonderful day. Blessings...Mary

That is a great collection. I love it.

Leaves work for me. I have leaves from graveyards all over the world :)

Cheers!

Oh You made me miss my rocks! I have a glass bowl full of rocks from all over the world. I worked for a multinational company, and every time someone traveled, I asked to bring me a stone or rock. It's still at my ex's... sigh
Your collection is so cool!

Kisses from us.

Your rock table makes me so giddy and I find myself wanting to pick up and hold each one of them.

In my wanderings I collect so very many things: stones, feathers, flowers, acorns, leaves, shells, sand... even water if the place is significant and I have a small vial with me.

LOL this post makes me feel "less" weird. I too have a rock fedish... rocks, crystals, and just stones! My son thinks I'm a freak... but I'm a freak in good company!!! thanks! :)

Oh, I love rocks! From the time I was little, and filling up my sandpail daily at the beach. Sadly, my Mom threw them all away, but as an adult, I've made up for it.
I have rocks in my garden from various trips we've taken, always asking them if they want to come and live with me. I only take rocks that "speak" to me.
I also have a lot of crystals too, but nothing compared to your wonderful collection! It is awesome!!
Feathers are another natural element that seems to find their way to me. I look at each one as a gift, and some have actually fallen from the sky, to land at my feet. What an honor!
I also have a growing book of pressed leaves, and have some special shells and pine cones too.

Thanks so much for sharing your treasures with us! They are all beautiful!
