Farmers Market Saturday - Faire Edition

My farmers market post is a little late this week, as I was marketing all weekend with my small business.  Yesterday we attended the August Faire, in a magical little town not far from here.  It wasn't a Renaissance fair - more of a family fun day - but it made me think of the fairs going on around the country this time of year.

I've never been to a Ren fair, but this one in Washinton state is only about a six hour drive from me - so it's a definite possiblity for a camping trip next summer.

This site - the Renaissance and Pirate Faire Directory gives you listings of all the faires happening in your area.  You can search by state, or by the type of faire you want to attend.

As for me, I had a wonderful time at the August Faire and a very nice Lughnasadh/Lammas.  We had thunderstorms in the evening, but not before we were able to have a nice, sunny day at the market and enjoy mini doughnuts, beautiful Indian currys for lunch and, of course.....lemonade!

I've never been to a Ren Fair, either...but I think it would be a ton of fun! And yeah, nothing like a cold glass of lemonade on a steamy day...to wash down the curry ;)

Did not know there was a ren faire in WA - going to have to check it out. Been ages since I have been to Shrewsbury here in Oregon...something about having to build props on the weekends :D I do miss them though...thanks for the reminder :)

Cheers!

I love a good faire!

My living situation is such that I am having to move. :(

I will be off line for awhile.

I'll be missing everyone!

Be back as soon as possible.

I enjoy a good faire as well. I have never been to a Renaissance fair either, but I would love to one day. I am sure I would be right in the spirit. :)

Yeah, why don't we have Ren Faires here in Canada? It seems odd that they're so popular in the States, yet not here.

We had went to a Renaissance fair a few years back. I loved, loved, loved the costumes! I loved whole thing for that matter. But those costumes are to die for! There was so much to do and see and let's not forget the food. Wishing you a beautiful weekend!
