Sweet September

"By all these lovely tokens
September days are here,
With summer’s best of weather
And autumn’s best of cheer."

- Helen Hunt Jackson

I can see by the blogs I've been reading today, that I'm not the only one still suffering from a Summer cold that just won't let go.  Coupled with an impromptu trip with my neices, playing catch up at my bookkeeping job and trying to find enough energy to work the Saturday markets - I've had a hard time posting here in the last few weeks.  When I do finally sit down, it's usually to watch another episode of The Office on DVD, because all the laughing really does make me feel better!
Another thing that makes me happy is that Autumn has finally arrived here in the Valley.  Although we've had some warm days, the nights are getting consistently cooler, and one of the large trees by the river where I walk is turning a gorgeous shade of golden yellow.

I'm snapping up the Halloween magazines at the grocery store and starting to haul out the Fall decorations.  My neices go back to school on Tuesday, and we are going to spend the weekend at the farmers market and do some last minute back-to-school strategizing.

My birthday is coming up mid-month, and I have a few outings planned with my girlfriends.  I will try to remember to bring my camera with me and get pics of our adventures.

September is always when I seem to come alive again after the heat of the Summer.  This is when I come back home to myself again.  I'm really looking forward to seeing what will unfold during this wonderful month.  I will keep you posted!

It'll be "Practical Magic" time before you know it. Drink lots of peppermint/lavender/sage tea with honey for your cold. When's your b-day? Do you consider yourself a "true" virgo? ;) Feel better and get some sleep.

Gos, I love September. It's been an awful summer for those of us with breathing issues...and September looks to be a welcome relief.

I don't have a cold, but my allergies this time of year just kick my old butt. The southwest has so many lovely annoying things blooming this time of year, but inspite of that, I love the smell of September. Apples, leaves, pumpkins, and for mommies and me too......freedom. The Olde Bagg

Ye gods, these colds are killers, especially when you're too busy to rest very well. I hope you're feeling better soon!

I think I have a cold brewing, typical as I have some holiday from work coming up! I love the autumn, the coller air and the colours, my favourite time of year. Hope you feel better soon.

LOVE September. The leaves here in New England will be brilliant in just a few weeks.

I too am a Virgo with a mid-month birthday. Are you a neat-nik perfectionist?

Sending good wishes from my home to yours,

This time of year is so not good for colds. They seem to really kick out backsides and not want to leave us. Wishing you well very soon. We are waiting for autumn here, today the air was heavy and hot. The clouds weren't even moving. Enjoy the farmers market and your nights out with your friends.

For me September ushers out summer and welcomes autumn … and I love this transitional month. But I love them all. ::)

Wendy & Sharon - I am a true Virgo. Rather picky and very organzied, but can be prone to laziness too...if I get the time! My birthday is the 15th Wendy.

TMC - blog scroll thingy...I'm sure I got the html from either Mrs. B or Domestic Witch. I'll see if I can find their post from way back, and send you the link.
