Happy October!

I can't tell you how excited I am that October has arrived!

The trees that were just getting some colour a few weeks ago, have burst into oranges and reds and are dropping leaves here and there.  The days have been warm and the nights cool.  The smell of wood smoke is in the air, and the pumpkins are huge in the farmers fields (if not in my own poor garden!)

The month is also off to a zooming start.  Mrs. B gave away my Halloween Tarot kit today on her first 31 days of Halloween post.  This yearly event is a blast and I am thrilled to be participating.  Thanks to all those who stopped by and are now following my blog.  And many thanks to Kris!

I'm also one of the blogs featured this week on "Best of the Web" at Be@Home - a fabulous website that features blogger posts about home, shopping, decor and tips.

Also happening soon:

I have my own giveway coming up this week (stay tuned...)

My Farmers Market Saturdays posts are quickly coming to a close.  There are only two more Saturdays left of our local market season.  Tomorrow I am not going to market, but am going to one of the many Wine Festivals happening in the area.  I will have that story (hopefully without a hangover) up sometime on Sunday.

Canadian Thanksgiving is just over a week away, and I'm trying out pumpkin cheesecake recipies.  I'll post the best one here.  Tough job - all that taste-testing!

Plus, I'm sure I'll find plenty of Halloween/Samhain trouble to get into - after all the month has only just begun...

Happiest October to all of you. I hope your month is off to a beautiful beginning!

I loved the last picture with the path in the woods. It is so Autumnal. By the way, the past couple of days we became obsessed with your lazy girl's bruscettas. Yumm!

I can't wait for the colors to get here! It has gotten cooler 88, that's about 8 degrees cooler than it has been. So maybe, just maybe fall is on its way here. Sounds like you have a great weekend planned. Have a blast at the wine tasting, should be really fun. Yeah, tasting all that cheese cake, what a bummer. LOL Can't wait to see your recipe. Have a blast this weekend Rue, you so deserve it!

This is the time I get envious of others who live in a place where "Autumn" really happens. Southern California is not exactly the most season-friendly place. Occasionally we'll get the rains, but not enough...sigh. I can't wait to see your recipes for the pumpkin cheesecake, love it!

We had our last warm day for a while and it's deliciously cold and windy. I'm finding myself more excited about the upcoming Samhain than I used to be about Christmas.

Your pictures are great! Love the brooms and especially the path through the woods. It looks like it belongs in Middle Earth.

Ooh...great post! Love hearing about the Fall changes going on in your neck of the woods. We were in Canada last year during Thanksgiving...which I were up there enjoying Autumn now. {sigh} Next year I will be...this is my year off to concentrate on our Annual Pumpkin Carving Party. Can't do it all I suppose. Have a wonderful weekend! :o)

Happy October!!! I am so welcoming the Fall weather. So sorry I've been away. I've gone back to school in hopes to get my bachelor's degree and life has been crazy busy! I can't wait to see a pumpkin cheesecake if you make one. :)
