Last Minute October Fun

My niece and I took one last drive out the farm stands yesterday before they closed for the season.  The pumpkins and squash were pretty picked over, but we found some lovely specimens that will do nicely for tomorrow night's light-up.

Because I live in a suite with an entrance that faces the backyard, I'm not able to entertain trick-or-treaters, so I make my annual Halloween pilgrimage one town over to my parents home, where little ghouls run rampant through the streets.  There, I mass jack-o-lanterns on the porch and sit on the stairs with a good book waiting on the kids...and possibly snacking on a few treats myself.

After hitting the farm stands, I went with friends last night to a haunted corn maze.  It was fairly child-friendly, so no big scares for me.  Except tripping over corn in the dark.  Still, it was fun and will be on our list of things to do next year.  My friend wants to visit larger mazes next year, so I've been tracking down a few must-see mazes.

Check out this list of mazes in North America.

Whatever you do for Halloween/Samhain, I hope your holiday is sweet and scary (if that's your thing!)

PS - don't forget to get your name in the hat for the book "Spirit of the Witch" by Raven Grimassi.  I'll be drawing the winner's name tomorrow night.

Ahhh...All Hallow's Eve is upon once again! I've been waiting for so long, yet it seems to go by so quickly! Love all the colored gourds and your relaxing evening of trick or treat sounds divine! Happy Samhain to you! :o)

PS... you can throw my name into your hat for the book if it's not too late! Thanks :o)

I do love the mazes, one of our friends here in our town owns one and we love to visit both the regular and the "haunted" version :)

We don't usually get little goblins here in the sticks either. Some years I go into town to a friends house and dress up and hand out candy. Not planning that this year though.

Wishing you a blessed Samhain. Have fun with the kiddies. I think it very special you drive one town over to entertain trick or treaters.

Happy night.

Blessed Samhain!! I love the photos from the pumpkin patch. We never made it to one this year, sigh. There is always next year. :)

Blessings

Hope your Halloween was sweet & scary too. ^-^

We have lots of left over treats... as we didn't get a single kiddo. @_@

Ah well... I'm sure we'll manage somehow. ^_~

As for the desk... um, ah... It's still a work in progress... which is to say that it's still a royal catastrophe.

I'm hoping that being left at home alone tomorrow, while Britt's in school, I'll be able to get a good chunk of housework finished. ^-^

Hope you have a lovely day & that you got to treat lots of little ghouls & goblins to goodies last night! ^-^

XOXO
