The Great October Colouring Book Giveaway

The colouring books are heading home with the following people:

Just Add Color: Day of the Dead:  thevapyrwithin

The Mindfulness Coloring Book:  lesadora

The Shakti Coloring Books:  LJ Dogsmom

Congratulations and happy colouring!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One thing you should know if you are new to this little blog is that I am Canadian, and we toss the letter "u" around like confetti on New Year's Eve. We especially like it cozied up to the letter "o" in particular. This post is titled correctly. However, these next books to give away...they look a bit naked without the "u" in their title.
In this case, they are in fact naked, and waiting on your hands to fill them. (This is sounding naughtier than I planned.) Colouring books for grown ups are all the rage of late, but I have been squirreling away my nieces old books for years. When I can't turn my mind off, when meditation just doesn't work, I dig out something to keep my hands busy for a while. There is an entire market springing up around adult colouring books, though there are differing opinions on whether colouring is truly therapeutic. Why not try it, and decide for yourself?
I have three different colouring books for you to play with:
(You will also get your choice of classic Crayolas or pencil crayons)
Just Add Color: Day of the Dead - from Sarah Walsh, published by Rockport Publishers
The Mindfulness Coloring Book by Emma Farrarons, published by Boxtree
The Shakti Coloring Book by Ekabhumi Charles Ellik, published by Sounds True
If you want to get your colouring on, leave a comment below, making sure there is a way for me to contact you if you win (linked comment or email address). You have until Friday, October 16th at 6pm Pacific. If there is a book that calls to you, let me know and I'll see what I can do about matching up winners and their choices.
As always, here are the rules/legal bits.
Thanks for playing!
It delights me to know I'm not the only adult who finds peace in coloring when nothing else will calm me. Those are delightful books. Any of them would make me smile, but the shakti one is stunning.
Oh those look adorable! I should really make time to color at some point/
Oh I love all of them. Coloring has always been a great stress reliever for me. Would be very happy with any of them, but I have to say, at the present I am enrolled in a Mindfulness class and that coloring book looks as if it will fit right in.
Totally love these! I have coloring books and do believe that it is one of the best things you can do to ease your mind. The day of the dead looks fantastic but I'm leaning towards the mindfulness one. So funny I listed a mindful candle this morning and created a meme than I saw this. :) <3 The stars have aligned for me. LOL <3
I'd love to win one of these and give to a girlfriend of mine. She moved 5 hours away last month AND started chemo, so a group of us are putting together a care package to send and I think she would really enjoy a coloring book. Pretty sure she would like the Mindfulness and The Shakti Coloring Books.
Thank-you for the giveaway!!
Delicious giveaway. I completely believe in the therapeutic power of color and movement. It works for me... It helps me regain focus when my ideas are all over the place.
I really like The Mindfulness Coloring Book. I went to the site to look at the pages and was a tad mesmerized.
I do believe coloUring is therapeutic. It is a relaxing exercise unless you fight to stay between the lines.
I am a crayola fan but maybe pencils is more adult?
Ooohhh colouring books!! Just starting to get in to those - the Day of the Dead and Shakti ones look amazing!
Rebecca Powell said...
These all look gorgeous! If I was picking one myself, I would probably go with the Mindfulness one :)
As for crayons vs. pencils, I get the feeling that it would be difficult to do the adult coloring books in crayon? Just thinking that they tend to have finer lines and smaller spaces. Although maybe the point would be to learn to let go and be ok with a bit of a mess ;)
I would love to try an adult coloring book. I've wanted to try for some time. I'd think the pencils would be more therapeutic than crayons. The crayons never felt comfortable in my hands. As for which book speaks to me, two of the three really call to me, but if I should win, I would prefer to leave the decision to fate. :)
The Day of the Dead one looks fun. I just found some old coloring books yesterday (Sleeping Beauty and something else Disney). I kept coloring books on hand for my friends little ones when they came over but now they're pretty grown. So, I'll probably use them myself. :-)
I would love the Mindfulness Coloring Book! The other books like fun, but as a counselor I could definitely use the mindfulness book in my work :)
We have always colored to relieve stress around our house, and now that it is a big thing we don't have to color jbust pictures of teddy bears, and unicorns, and fairies etc. We have an Indian boy that will be joining our family soon, so The Shakti Coloring Book will be in the right mindset for the upcoming event.
OH man, I don't even care which one I win if I get picked for one... I mean I love the Day of the dead one and Shakti one the best, but they all look great. Colouring is so much fun :D
I adore all things Day of the Dead, so that colo(u)ring book would be adorable; the Mindfulness book looks soothing just gazing on the cover, too.
You're really sweet to let people have a chance to try these out and see If it offers the same calming effects for them!
I can be reached at red1332@hotmail.com. Have a great October!
Wow, these books are awesome! I love coloUring, it's therapeutic for me indeed, because your mind simply goes away while you fill the blank spaces with color. It's a break in time.
I particularly love the Day of the Dead book, I love skulls. :)
Thank you once again for the fun!
