Attending a farmers market isn't the only way of supporting your local growers. I do a veggie swap with my neighbours and often bring extra items from my garden to work for my co-workers to take home. Visiting a local farm, gardener or roadside stand is also a great way to get fresh, local food all season long.
This cute video has a couple spotting a stand set up by an enterprising gardener:

I could not agree with you more... Almost all the watermelons I buy is from a little old man who sits in his pickup on the side of the road. And everyone has to love neighbor exchanges... Our neighbor, a dear sweet man, passed this last month. I will dearly miss his presence as well as his goodies from his garden that he would share with me.
~i too feel the same...last year i had an over abundance of tomatoes and lettuce and my neighbors were so delighted by receiving such...simple ways to share and unite with one another...wishing you well and brightest blessings~
What is more perfect than a Farmer's Market in Autumn...it is an absolute must-do. Thanks for the video, too
You are making me yearn for these Farmer's Markets Rue! It's still hot down here and it's a bit depressing. Hope you are having a blissful weekend! :o)
I can't resist farm stands, no matter what their size. I share your love of all things field fresh and share whatever I can. I hope you are having a great day. Blessings...Mary
